Ceiling Plastering Machine - 4 Nozzles
TENKA TVN-4 is a pneumatic ceiling plastering machine with 4 individually lockable nozzles. It allows working with 1, 2, 3, or 4 nozzles.
Product details
TENKA TVN-4 is a pneumatic plastering machine specifically designed for applying mortar to ceilings and other horizontal surfaces. The 4-nozzle configuration allows for fast and uniform material projection, and the individual locking system provides the possibility to work with 1, 2, 3, or all 4 nozzles, depending on the job and the capacity of the compressor used.
The construction of the TVN-4 model was designed for tasks where mortar must be projected from the bottom up. The stainless steel lance allows the device to be positioned at a practical distance from the work surface, while the pneumatic trigger gun gives the operator direct control over the air supply and the timing of the material projection.
4 nozzles for ceiling plastering
The TVN-4 model is equipped with 4 pneumatic nozzles oriented for projecting mortar towards the ceiling. Their arrangement allows the material to be distributed over a larger area in a single pass and contributes to increased efficiency compared to manual application.
The 4 nozzles can be individually controlled via locking caps. Thus, the operator can use the device in four different configurations: with a single nozzle, two nozzles, three nozzles, or all four active nozzles.
This flexibility allows the device to adapt to the size of the surface and the consistency of the material, as well as the available airflow. For large surfaces, the full capacity of the device can be used, while for smaller areas or tasks requiring more control, the number of active nozzles can be reduced.
Locking caps – choose how many nozzles you want to use
The locking system allows for the individual deactivation of nozzles that are not needed for the specific job. By fitting the locking cap, the operation of that nozzle is closed, so that air and material are directed only through the remaining active nozzles.
In this way, TENKA TVN-4 can be quickly configured for different working situations. Using a single nozzle allows for a concentrated jet in a narrow area, while the simultaneous use of all 4 nozzles is suitable for quickly covering larger surfaces.
0.8 mm stainless steel hopper
The mortar hopper is made of 0.8 mm thick stainless steel sheet, a material chosen for its resistance to specific construction site conditions and for easy maintenance after use.
The shape of the hopper is adapted to the working position of the device, so that the material can properly feed the nozzle area when the mortar is projected towards the ceiling.
Brass trigger gun
The compressed air supply is controlled through a pneumatic gun made of brass and equipped with a trigger. The operator can thus quickly start or stop the airflow during work without additional operations.
Using brass for the gun body provides a robust construction for this important component of the pneumatic system and contributes to the device's reliability during repeated use on the job site.
Stainless steel lance for ceiling work
The TVN-4 model is equipped with a stainless steel lance, which connects the control gun to the mortar projection assembly. The device's configuration allows the operator to control the material projection while maintaining an appropriate working position for application on surfaces above them.
The lance contributes both to the correct positioning of the hopper and nozzles relative to the ceiling and to maintaining a suitable working distance during mortar projection.
Plastic pneumatic manifold
Air distribution to the 4 nozzles is achieved through a plastic pneumatic manifold. This distributes air to each projection point and allows the device to operate with the number of nozzles selected by the operator.
Together with the individual locking system, the manifold allows for switching from one working configuration to another without needing to change the device.
Lightweight for overhead operation
TENKA TVN-4 weighs approximately 3.5 kg without mortar. With the hopper loaded, the total weight of the device reaches approximately 7.5 kg.
The weight and configuration of the device are of particular importance for ceiling plastering, as the equipment is used in a different position compared to a gun intended exclusively for walls. The TVN-4 aims to offer a practical compromise between loading capacity, component robustness, and the maneuverability required for working at height.
Compressor connection and direct projection control
TENKA TVN-4 operates with compressed air and connects to the compressor's pneumatic system. The gun trigger allows the operator to directly control the air supply during mortar application.
For correct operation, the compressor used must be able to provide the pressure and airflow required for the number of active nozzles. The more nozzles used simultaneously, the higher the total air requirement of the device.
The possibility of individually locking the nozzles is also an advantage from this perspective: if the available pneumatic system cannot support the optimal operation of all 4 nozzles simultaneously, the operator can reduce the number of active nozzles.
Where can TENKA TVN-4 be used?
The TVN-4 model is primarily intended for mortar projection tasks on ceilings and horizontal or inclined surfaces located above the operator. Depending on the material used and the characteristics of the substrate, the device can be used for:
- plastering ceilings in new constructions or renovation projects;
- mechanized application of mortar on slabs and other horizontal surfaces;
- filling reinforced surfaces with welded mesh or other compatible reinforcement systems;
- applying the spatter coat (scratch coat) to prepare the substrate before subsequent layers;
- filling specific areas by concentrating the projection with one or two nozzles;
- tasks where rapid adaptation of projection width and flow is required by using a different number of nozzles.
From a single nozzle to all 4 nozzles
One of the main advantages of the TENKA TVN-4 model is the freedom to adapt the device's configuration to the job being performed. The operator is not forced to work with all four nozzles at all times.
For precise interventions, a single nozzle can be used. For a larger area, two or three nozzles can be activated, and when high efficiency is required and the compressor can provide the corresponding flow, all 4 nozzles can be used simultaneously.
This configuration turns the TVN-4 into flexible equipment for ceiling plastering, capable of combining application speed with the possibility of controlling the mortar jet.
Built for a difficult operation: ceiling plastering
Manual application of mortar to the ceiling is one of the most demanding tasks in plastering work. TENKA TVN-4 was designed precisely to mechanize this stage, projecting the mortar pneumatically towards the surface and allowing the operator to control the application directly from the gun.
The combination of 4 lockable nozzles, the 0.8 mm stainless steel hopper, the brass trigger gun, the pneumatic manifold, and the stainless steel lance provides a simple and adaptable assembly, intended for those who want to reduce the time required for manual application and increase the efficiency of ceiling plastering work.

Use classic mortar (multibat with sand or cement + sand + lime) with coarse sand .. 0.4-0.5 (from a gravel pit).
Tip: if you use welded mesh or steel of any kind, do not use lime in the mortar composition. make the plastering only with sand and cement. 6 shovels of sand + 1 of cement
So if you work at a relaxed pace in 2 people, we assure you that a compressor with a 50 liter tank, 8 bar pressure, and a minimum intake flow of 270 liters/minute is sufficient. The recommendation is for it to have 2 pistons rather than one.
You have here a video from one of our customers with a 50 liter / 8 bar compressor with a single piston.
Here is here also a compressor model with 2 pistons.
If you work in a team (one loads continuously, another levels with the straightedge, another carries bags, another mixes, etc.), the 50 liter compressor will drop the pressure to 5-6 bar and will not be able to keep it constant at 7-8 bar as it should.
In that case, a 100 liter compressor is necessary because its motor has the capacity to charge the tank faster at a constant pressure of 7-8 bar.
The nozzles of the plastering guns are calculated very precisely to fit within the parameters of these compressors. If I am not mistaken, the nozzle diameter is 2.35mm.
If you don't add enough cement, the mortar will bounce off the wall and won't set. You'll lose it on the floor.
If you add too much cement, the mortar becomes too sticky and hard to throw even with a hand trowel.
If you use classic plaster (sand + cement + lime), use the 6+1+1 ratio (6 shovels of sand, 1 shovel of lime, 1 shovel of cement) or a multiple (12+2+2). If you have rebar in the plaster for reinforcement, do not use lime in the mortar recipe because the iron will oxidize and you will have a rust stain that will always come to the surface of the wall.
TIPS:
- DO NOT leave the device in the water you washed it in because the cement water will penetrate the device and can harden.
- After washing the device, leave it in clean water during your work break.
- When unscrewing the nozzles to clean them, make sure the plastering machine is washed and clean.
- Also buy the pack of spare nozzles.
Soon we will update the models with a filter to stop all the dirt from the hose at the quick coupling of the plastering machine and to get rid of cleaning the nozzles. It is being worked on and will be released on the market as soon as possible. The filter will be placed at the entrance of the trigger's quick coupling and will retain any impurity in it, keeping the nozzles clean at all times.
I built a garage, and not being a professional, the walls weren't exactly straight, so I had to apply quite a thick layer when plastering. This is how it looks at the end: PHOTO
Approximately 400 sqm per day are applied by one person. I want to mention that on the first day we used very fine sand and it went very poorly. I thought the plastering machine was at fault. Then we switched to coarse-grained sand (0.4m) and it works superbly. I'll make a video.
So, for a compressor to work without issues in a hobby setting (meaning if you are plastering your own house at a relaxed pace), you need a minimum intake flow rate of 250 l/min, a pressure of 8-9 bar (never exceed 9 bar), and an air tank of at least 50 liters.
Ideally, it should have 2 pistons instead of just one. For 2-piston engines, the flow rate is double (400l/min) and the engine manages to fill the tank much faster and sometimes take a break.
If you work in a professional setting, meaning with a team (one at the concrete mixer, another loading, another using the straight edge), you need a compressor with a 100-liter tank, the rest of the parameters remain the same (flow rate, pressure, etc.).
If you already have a smaller compressor and do not wish to invest in a more powerful one, you can use the Tenka machine with only 2 nozzles. You block the rest of the nozzles; some blocking caps are included in the package. With 2 nozzles, the machine loads up to 2 cm of plaster thickness in a single second if you hold it in position. So it is quite fast even with 2 nozzles. The excess pressure will be released from under the gun trigger.
The ones with 3 nozzles will be discontinued soon.
Tip: buy at least 15 - 20 meters of hose to keep the compressor at a distance. The noise of the compressor causes irritation and stress after a day on the construction site.
The maximum recommended length of the hose is 50m. If you exceed this length, a half-second delay will occur from the moment you pull the gun trigger because the hose will equalize its internal pressure with that of the compressor tank. And the volume of the hose is already large at a length of over 50m, which causes the delay to appear. The hose must be fitted at one end with a male quick coupler (approx. 4 lei) and at the other end with a female coupler (12 lei). Or you can find it already fitted in Dedeman (approx. 50 lei) So:
- Inner diameter 8mm
- Hose length minimum 15m.
- At one end a male quick coupler and at the other end a female coupler example : here
The most commonly used and cost-effective mortar: link mortar
Cheap compressor (hobby) but tested by us on the 3-nozzle model: link compressor
Use sand with a grain size as large as possible: 0.3 - 0.4 mm
Other mortar recipes can be found in the instructions in the package. Good luck with your work and God bless.
